VDOT REPLACING ADA APPROACHES ON CAPITAL TRAIL NEAR BRICK BAT ROAD (MM 5) - APRIL 22 - 23
VDOT contractors will be repairing the ADA Trail approaches across from Brick Bat Road beginning Tuesday, April 22. Work is expected to take approximately two days. During this time, a small section of the Capital Trail will be temporarily closed. Trail users will need to briefly exit the Trail and navigate around the construction area. Please be alert and use caution.
CAP2CAP CYCLING EVENT ON CAPITAL TRAIL (MAY 8 & 9)
The Genworth | CareScout Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 8 & 9, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Expect increased cycling traffic along the entire Capital Trail (MM 0 - MM 51.7) during this time. Party zones are open to the public and will be located at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Friday (5/8) and Dorey Park on Saturday (5/9).
RICHMOND SAILFEST - DOCK STREET PARK (JUNE 18-19)
The Virginia Museum of History & Culture will host Richmond Sailfest on June 18–19 along the Capital Trail between the Intermediate Terminal Building and Dock Street Park (MM 51). Trail users should expect heavy pedestrian traffic throughout this area. Please travel at slow speeds, use caution, and be mindful of people, especially young children, crossing the Trail. Cyclists are encouraged to dismount and walk their bikes through this section.
