Grab your running or walking shoes and join the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation on Saturday, October 28th for a Halloween-themed event with a quintessential Fall backdrop on the Virginia Capital Trail!
Run or walk 10 miles or 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) along the James River through scenic and historic sections of Richmond. Registration includes a t-shirt, drink ticket, costume contest, prizes, course support, touchless water stations, bathrooms, and an off-road paved trail. After your hard work, enjoy a post-run beverage of your choice from
Stone Brewing.
Discounts available for participants age 20 and younger as well as members of Richmond Road Runners Club, Colonial Road Runners, and Tri-Cities Road Runners. There’s also a discount for referring 3 friends!

Both 10M and 5K routes are on the Virginia Capital Trail, starting and finishing at Stone Brewing’s Nicholson St parking lot in Richmond (near MM 51).

No entry is required. Judges will select winners in the following categories and give out prize packets:
- Adult Costume
- Children's Costume
- Family/Group Costume
Top-finisher Prizes!
Thanks to Lucky Road Run Shop for offering varying amounts of gifts certificates to their excellent store! Winners will be notified via email after the event to pick up their prizes at Lucky Road Run Shop Willow Lawn.
Proceeds benefit the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation's mission to protect, promote, and enhance the Virginia Capital Trail, and to serve as a resource, community builder, and connector to other trails throughout the Commonwealth.

Work Your Way to 5k program with Cap Trail Champs every Wednesday from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.
Not sure if you’re ready to take on a 5K challenge. What if we told you there's an extra dose of motivation coming your way?
Not only do we have the perfect place to train, but we’re launching an exciting Cap Trail Work Your Way to 5k program during our Cap Trail Champs on Wednesday, August 23rd. Stop by our VCTF booth at MM 51.2 (near the Intermediate Terminal building in RVA) between 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. More info to come!
