Who We Are

Mission:

The mission of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation (VCTF) is to raise public awareness and promote support for the construction, safe public use, and ongoing enhancements of the Virginia Capital Trail through advocacy, fundraising and educational outreach.

Vision:

The Virginia Capital Trail will be a world-class facility, connecting the Richmond-Williamsburg region, preserving the outstanding historic, cultural and recreational assets for both residents and guests of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Virginia Capital Trail Foundation is the principal advocate for the project and works with the Virginia Department of Transportation and other private and public stakeholders to fulfill a world-class vision of the Trail. Planned enhancements include interpretive and wayfinding signage, kiosks, and bike/ped accommodations, as well special events and community outreach programs. The Trail is scheduled to be completed in 2014, and will provide an exceptional experience for users of all ages and abilities.
