The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation is the principal advocate for the project and works with the Virginia Department of Transportation and other private and public stakeholders to fulfill a world-class vision of the Trail. Planned enhancements include interpretive and wayfinding signage, kiosks, and bike/ped accommodations, as well as interactive curricula, special events and youth outreach programs. The Trail is scheduled to be completed in 2010, and will provide an exceptional recreational experience for users of all ages and abilities.
A Partnership in Progress
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation and other state agencies and stakeholders,
to fulfill a world-class vision of the project, promoting best practices
for trail construction and physical enhancements such as landscaping,

is supported by the Greater Richmond Area Chamber Foundation.
Mission

corridor.
- The ongoing and perpetual enhancement of the Trail for users of all
