Virginia Capital Trail Foundation
To raise public awareness and promote support for the construction, safe public use, and ongoing enhancements of The Trail through advocacy, fundraising and educational outreach.

 

The Trail will be a world-class facility that connects the Richmond-Williamsburg region – that preserve the region’s outstanding historic, cultural and recreational assets for both residents and guests of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Virginia Capital
Trail Foundation is the principal advocate for the project and works with the Virginia Department of Transportation and other private and public stakeholders to fulfill a world-class vision of the Trail. Planned enhancements include interpretive and wayfinding signage, kiosks, and bike/ped accommodations, as well as interactive curricula, special events and youth outreach programs. The Trail is scheduled to be completed in 2013, and will provide an exceptional recreational experience for users of all ages and abilities.
